Matt Beers and Tristan Nortje delivered a commanding performance to secure overall victory at the 2026 Cape Epic, closing out the race with a decisive final stage that underlined both their resilience and tactical maturity.
In doing so, the pair made history, becoming the first all-South African team to win the race in its 22 editions, a landmark moment for local cycling and the broader endurance community.
Widely regarded as one of the most demanding stage races in the world, the Cape Epic tests far more than physical strength. Over eight days of racing, riders are pushed through relentless terrain, extreme fatigue, and constant strategic pressure. This year’s edition proved no different.
